Description

Chemical Engineering is the branch that deals with the development, design, operation, monitoring, optimization and control of manufacturing processes at an industrial level. Particularly in the processes in which matter undergoes changes in state, energy content or composition when it is subjected to different physical, chemical or biological processes, to achieve the highest quality and efficiency while respecting the environment. In the development of their professional activities, the Chemical Engineer applies the principles of basic sciences and engineering, together with the principles of economics and human relations in various fields of industry such as agribusiness, the food industry, the manufacture of chemical products, the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics and personal care products, the packaging industry, treatment and disposal of waste and emissions, and many others fields.

What You Will Learn

The Chemical Engineering program is designed to allow engineering students to complete an undergraduate degree within a 5 year time period plus six months of graduation process. The program contains 45 courses distributed in the following areas:

Curriculum

While studying Chemical Engineering at UCA, you will learn all the vital aptitudes and skills to become an integral architect. Throughout your journey at our university, we will provide you with a roadmap of the classes you will need to enroll in every semester:

Facilities At Your Disposal

The Chemical Engineering laboratories at UCA have three main functions: teaching practices, conduct research & graduation projects and external services.

These laboratories were designed for students to put the theory into practice and further develop their technical and collaborative work skills.

Within the building there are multiple laboratories with different purposes to help students develop at different levels and branches of Chemistry, laboratories that can be accessed are: General Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Process Technology, Reactor Process, Polymer Manipulation, Environmental Quality, Instrumental Analysis and Microbiology.

Schedule

This program has been designed for full time students.

From the first to the fourth year the schedule are daytime, however, the fifth year, the classes are programming early at the morning (7:00 to 8:40) and late at the afternoon (17:30 to 20:10). This allows final year students to do internships or get their first job.
