Description

Mechanical Engineers requires an understanding of core areas including solid mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product life cycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, and others.

What you will learn

This program consists of 45 courses, distributed in a total of five years plus six months for a final graduation project; the courses enclose the following areas:

1. Science and Mathematics

Includes the scientific training necessary to understand the principles and fundamentals of engineering, some courses are mathematics and physics

2. Engineering sciences

These courses cover the bases to understand the process technologies used in all engineering, here includes Statics, Dynamics, and Fluids to name some.

3. Social Outreach and Humanism

Students have 5 elective courses, they can choose in different areas such as environment, climate change, ecology, ethics, sociology, writing techniques, philosophy, etc.

4. Applied engineering

The applied engineering courses involves the design, production, installation, testing and maintenance of machinery.

Design and Manufacturing

Is the process of designing parts, components, or products for ease of manufacturing with an end goal of making a better product at a lower cost. Manufacturing process, and Machine Elements Design are some courses that are related to the topic.

Thermal fluid and Energy Systems

Addresses a Multi-energy system operation and planning, towards a clean, secure, and efficient energy provision. Heat Transfer, and Pneumatic and hydraulic systems are some courses that are related to the topic.

Power Plants

A power plant is an assembly of systems or subsystems that work together to produce energy or power that meets economic needs makes up a power plant. Is also a location where another kind of energy is transformed into electrical energy. Hydraulic Power Plant and Steam Power Plant systems are some courses that are related to the topic.

Industrial Maintenance

Through Industrial Maintenance, a company can take advantage of all the equipment it has. Simultaneously, it reduces the costs associated with repairs and reduces the need to purchase new appliances frequently.

Curriculum

Our Labs

Practice in our courses is of the utmost importance, which is why we have hardware and software equipment to complement theory. Some of the laboratories where our students carry out their practice are:

    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Mechanics of Materials
    • UCA-Siemens
    • Classroom
      Thermodynamics
    • Heat Transfer
    • Induction Motors
    • Machine-Tool Operation
    • Machine Elements Manufacturing

Schedule

This program has been designed for full time students.

From the first to the fourth year the schedule are daytime, however, the fifth year, the classes are programming early at the morning (7:00 to 8:40) and late at the afternoon (17:30 to 20:10). This allows final year students to do internships or get their first job.
