Civil Engineering is a career that uses scientific knowledge and technology to take advantage of and rationally use available resources. This use is carried out in order to develop the physical infrastructure necessary to facilitate the development of human activities.

Curriculum

The curriculum consists of a total of 45 subjects, designed to be completed over 10 academic cycles. In addition to the standard course duration, students should account for an aditional six-months graduation process.

STEM Fundamentals

Involves the study of all the principles of construction materials, construction processes, design of concrete and steel structures, management and development of a construction project, and environmental disaster planning.

Construction & Structures

Introduces students to the principles of construction and structural engineering, focusing on materials, design, and analysis of structures

Geotechnics

The behavior of the soil is studied in order to correctly design the foundations of the structures, as well as to conceive retention works.

Transport Works

It includes the geometric design of roads, design and construction methods of pavements.

Water Resources Management

Analysis of fluid behavior, watershed analysis, water distribution networks, wastewater management.

Technical Electives

These courses have the function of expanding the knowledge of the students in the different fields of Chemical Engineering that, according to the institutional possibilities, are in the capacity to offer and that are demanded by the dynamic and changing reality at the national and regional levels.

Social Outreach and Humanism

Students select 5 courses to guarantee that five thematic blocks are covered: comprehensive training, environment and risk, human rights, ethics, education, gender and violence.

Student Life

Schedule

This program has been designed for full time students.

From the first to the fourth year the schedule are daytime, however, the fifth year, the classes are programming early at the morning (7:00 to 8:40) and late at the afternoon (17:30 to 20:10). This allows final year students to do internships or get their first job.
